How to turn on a PC Power Supply Without a PC
Переглядів 43 тис.4 роки тому
This is a really simple way of powering your PSU without a motherboard! Use this method for PC troubleshooting, seeing LED mods as you work, or powering your watercooling equipment by itself. There's probably more you could use it for too, whatever is powered by a SATA or MOLEX cable really. The steps in this process are: 1: plug PSU power cable into a wall outlet and turn on the power switch i...
Tearing Down and Modding the Deepcool Castle 360EX CPU Cooler!
Переглядів 52 тис.4 роки тому
This is a teardown and review of the Deepcool Castle 360EX AIO liquid CPU cooler. Gosh, what a mouthful. The point of this video is to show you what you get when you buy this thing, and how easy it would be to modify if you ever wanted to. Spoilers: very easy. I use epoxy for this mod, which turns out pretty awesome. However getting everything you need to use epoxy for modding is sort of expens...
What I Learned After One Year of Modding PCs!
Переглядів 53 тис.4 роки тому
This video is meant to show all the progress I made with my modding skills from the first mod I ever attempted all the way to one year later. I completed 12 mods in total in that first year at the rate of just about one per month or so. I learned quite a lot, and made a fair amount of mistakes too! All of which are shamelessly documented and displayed here. I will be doing another video like th...
Professional PC Modders Workshop Tour

"Professional" might be pushing it a little bit, but still! After a long absence from modding I'm back with this workshop tour! The break from youtube was caused by my moving from one living space to another, and this is the upgrade I got from that arduous process. I don't think my workshop layout is going to change much so even in the future if you're wondering what my work space looks like yo...
How to mod an AIO water cooler!
Переглядів 230 тис.5 років тому
This is a video on how to modify your computers AIO (all in one) water cooler! I mostly show how to change the tubes on them because that is a process the majority of AIOs have in common. Having clear tubes means you can see the water in the system, and if you dye it a cool color then you've got something unique and interesting showcased inside your PC. You can also change the look of the radia...
How to mod your Nintendo Switch!
Переглядів 34 тис.5 років тому
This is a video on how to modify a Nintendo Switch to look like anything you want! We created a Charizard with our dock, and changed the look of the handheld part a bit. In case you're not aware, Charizard is a creature from the popular TV show Pokemon. He's typically orange, but the "shiny" version (meaning his alternative rarer coloring) is the color you see in the video. I hope you find this...
How to make a DIY acrylic bender (Cheap & easy)

In this video I make a acrylic bending tool, super useful for getting professional looking bends on plexiglass pieces. This thing is really easy to make and super useful for PC modding, which is what I mostly do. Custom Venom themed PC - Case mod timelapse

Check out her instagram, she makes cool stoof. Also check Designs by IFRs mod video, he did a Venom mod on this same case I worked on. How to mod your SSD!
Переглядів 46 тис.5 років тому
In this video I dismantle a nice looking RGB SSD to see how it works, and try to make a normal boring looking SSD more like it. A solid state drive is a very simple piece of hardware, and there's hardly any risk at all of doing something fun to them like I do in this video. Just don't cut into the actual pcb, because that would be bad. I figure this kind of mod is more for those people who want...
Modding the NZXT H500i PC case: LORD TACHANKA
Переглядів 80 тис.5 років тому
I was asked to build a Tachanka themed NZXT H500i, so this is what I came up with. Tachanka is a character from the video game Rainbow Six Siege, in case you didn't know. I did some fancy CNC work and painting, and in the end it turned out pretty sweet. And yeah I know there's no GPU in it at the end, I'm in a bit of a transitional period right now and don't actually have one :P Savant PCs: ua-...
NZXT H500i PC Case Teardown
Переглядів 211 тис.5 років тому
This is a teardown video for the NZXT H500i. I just show how to take it apart so you can see how everything fits together, in case you're interested in trying to modify it. The difference between the "i" version and the regular H500 is the lighting, the normal version doesn't have any lights included. I hope this video helped you decide if you are interested in this case for your own build! If ...
Modded Gaming PC: Lord of the Rings Case Mod Timelapse

This is a Lord of the Rings themed gaming PC mod I did for a client on a Fractal Design Define Mini C. He wanted to include this awesome looking guy "The Mouth of Sauron", one of Saurons emissaries. He's featured more so in the books and a bit in the extended cuts of the movies. The inscription on his mask translated into English is "Voice of the Abhorred Dead", I believe it's written in elvish...

PC Modding Basics: What tools you need to start modding

Great video! Question: If I got myself some Alphacool NexXxoS RXP-1 RAM-Cooler Black, it would be very straight forward to connect them up to a modded AIO like how you showed in this video, wouldn't it? Just add tubes and tighten them, and add them to the loop. Right? My PC already has a good AIO for the CPU, but I found an old 240mm AIO in my PC parts box and I was thinking maybe I could try out water-cooling my RAM.... 😅 Thoughts?

Absolutely no mention of the air gap that is vital in all aio's...shame on you for not knowing that hot things expand and cold things also expand. You need to have an air gap of 5%. Yes really 5% so if you empty out 100ml of fluid then the radiator takes 105 mls...

You can just use an old PC power supply, which would work perfect because there's 5 V and 12 V On the connector, it comes off the power supply you'll see a black and the green wire side-by-side. That is your jumper wire for your switched to turn it on and off.

I found a coolermaster aio with 14cm radiator for 8 usd. :D It is working. I allready own a 24cm corsair. I am going to build a dual cpu system in near future. I am planning to combine the two aio. :D This video has been very helpful. Thank you very much. My plan is: Cpu block, 14cm radiator, cpu block, 24cm radiator. So I will have two pumps working. :D First I should check wether it is going to become a problem or not. But if it does not become a problem, than that is it. :D 38cm radiators for two cpus should be enough. If not, then I can try to hunt down broken aio's, because generally their pump dies out. When my pump dies out, I can use aquvarium pump (1999 style. My first water cooler system was consisting of tupperware as water tank, aquvarium pump inside tupperware, car heater radiator, cpu block, gpu block and northbridge block. :D )

This video is old. Anyone finding it in present time. You’ll want to know how much liquid the OEM puts in. Some air is required, water expansion under heat is a real deal. With zero air and all water. Thermal expansion could be a serious issue causing leaking/cracks/etc which would damage the air or other components. So leave some air but better just find how much liquid the oem puts in w/e aio you have. That’s the key.

@DIYTechTube hey there I am trying your suggested steps for one of my project but can you just give me a heads up on like, what if I apply conformal coating as u say and then put an enamel spray paint. and Once the entire paint job is done and the motherboard is up and running, what if I got to desolder or solder any one component on the motherboard will I be able to do it? My query exactly is that will the paint job catch fire while soldering or desoldering any motherboard component? since the soldering tip will be heated and the paints are highly flammable. What do u think!

Just came across your video and I thought of a question. Is it possible to switch the connections from the barbs to some other more secure and professional looking connection like that of the compression style? I just found a water cooler for the Raspberry Pi 5 computer, and a company has made a small water cooler for it. The problem that I have is that the lines are flexible and I would like to take a crack at using actual rigid acrylic pipes for the cooling lines. However, these are not conducive to Barb style connections. So I wanted to switch them out. Do you think that's possible?
